The entrance is the whole property’s first sentence. Everything behind it — headquarters, barns, guest quarters, roads — is the rest of the paragraph, and it either reads as one place or as a series of unrelated decisions.
Entrances
Native stone columns and walls, gates, cattle guards, lighting and the planting that frames them. We build to the grade of the land rather than against it, and we use stone that belongs to this land rather than something trucked in that will never look settled.
The details that decide whether it lasts: a real footing below frost and below the caliche, drainage behind every wall, and an approach that a gooseneck can actually turn into.
Headquarters and homesites
Full-property design and installation — planting, irrigation, drainage, hardscape, outdoor living and lighting. Drawn, staked and planted by the same crew, so nothing is lost in a handoff between a designer and an installer.
What goes wrong on big properties, and how we avoid it
Irrigation designed for a catalogue, not a well
Ranch irrigation runs on well water with real pressure and volume limits, often through long mainlines. We design around what the well actually delivers, zone to it, and size for the run — not to a standard residential template that will cavitate a pump.
Drainage treated as an afterthought
Caliche and clay do not absorb, and North Texas rain arrives all at once. Grading, French drains and channels get designed with the landscape, not added after the first storm moves the driveway.
Plant material that was never going to make it
We stock hardwoods and xeriscape specimens at our own nursery in Graford, already acclimated to this soil and this heat. You pick the tree off the row.
One company, one number
Most of what goes wrong on a large property happens in the gap between contractors. We do design, install, irrigation, drainage, stone, lighting and the nursery, so there is no gap. Licensed and insured, working North Texas since 2003.
